Jenny is a local Leytonstone mum and has both a First Class Bachelor of Music Degree from Leeds University and a PGCE in Secondary Music from the Institute of Education.
As a trained musician and educator, Jenny has taught in Early Years, Primary and Secondary settings, with experience ranging from classroom teaching, teaching individual instrumental lessons, running choirs, orchestras, bands, putting on school concerts, carol services, productions and running training sessions for staff.
Over the years, Jenny has enjoyed developing her skills through training with the British Kodaly Association and has recently completed the London Early Years Music Network (LEYMN) apprenticeship scheme. Jenny loves learning and is constantly nuturing and developing her own musical skills and knowledge in order to ensure she can create and deliver the most beneficial and age appropriate classes for Musical Miniatures.
Alongside her teaching, Jenny is also a musician who performs regularly with a range of ensembles including the Bethnal Green Bigband, Uptown Swing, Tollington Gospel Choir and Johnny Parry Chamber Orchestra.
Live music, singing and creative performing has always been at the heart of her teaching.
Jenny is currently pregnant with her third child and is likely to be induced on the 23rd March. As we all know trying to plan too far in advance is always challenging, but intentions are to continue classes until the 20th March. Depending on delivery and baby, Jenny then plans to take a months maternity leave returning on Thursday 23rd April (please note this may be pushed back to 30th April depending on recovery and baby) Initially classes will be run at a slightly reduced timetable with amended class times (Thursday at 10:10 and Friday at 09:40 and 10:30). All flexi-passes will be extended to reflect the amount of time Jenny has off. If there are any issues with parents returning to work/relocating etc. then please just get in touch and I can sort on a case by case basis.
